I wanted to showcase ALL my work as yung23 in one blog so I have decided to update this old blog for that reason.
I hope fans of LOST may still enjoy it all, and I DO plan on finishing the Crysis mod eventually :)

However, I must prioritize my real life as a graphic artist first..
(hence my updating this blog.. this IS portfolio material in any case)

THE LOST ISLAND VRML

This is a small preview of my latest LOST ISLAND MAP..

The final will be available as a poster, detailed enough to see the locations and features of the island.

All Locations will be plotted and clearly marked.

THE LOST ISLAND

I've been mapping the LOST island ever since the show began in 2004.

It all started when ABC & TPTB decided to show a map of the island while Sayid was being held captive by Danielle in the episode "Solitary"

I turned that map into an overhead map of my own, correcting the perspective in Adobe Photoshop, eventually creating a heightmap which allowed me to add depth to the island in programs like Bryce by Daz3d & Maya by Autodesk.

This was one of my first renders of the LOST island in 3D.
It was the first time the fans of LOST would "see" this fictional island in totality.

THE HYDRA, PREDICTED

While mapping the island back in 2005, I noticed one of the maps showing an islet with the triangle, could be placed with the main map

It was here where I speculated the "others" were.

THE SIDE VIEW PROBLEM

I encountered a problem when merging the maps together in 3D
The side view map of the island not match with the top view.

so I showed the forums and possibly TPTB, the problem.


Two years later, we see a shot of the island, taken from the HYDRA...
and the shot TOTALLY matches my earlier estimate of how things would have looked.

I had predicted the placement of the Hydra in relation to the island, as well as its use as some form of base-camp for the others.
